Keep on reading and learn about the simple possibilities Lynck has to offer.

Step 1: Registering

You will have to register to Lynck to be able to make your personal page. Lynck offers several catagory pages (located on the top bar of the home page, see the sceenshot below) to preview some of the feeds available in a concerning a topic. To register, please click on register on the top right of the main Lynck page. Lycnk will not ask you any unnecessary personal information: only your e-mail address is suficient to register. Directly after registering you should log in with th login and password you have chosen yourself. Below you will see a screenhot of your personal page, which will look rather empty at first. Please click on the settings button, again on the top right of the page, and follow the steps below.

Step 2: Choose your favorite searchengine

Not everyone likes Google as a search engine. Therefore, Lynck provides your with a set of popular search engines, from which you can choose. The search engine will take a prominent place on your personal page (as indicated in the second screenshot below). Once your've entered the settings page, please indicate which search engine you would like to put on your page. If you're not certain on which engine the choose, we recommend Google. The screenshot below shows the search engine box of Yahoo!, another major search engine.

Step 3: Setting up your favorite links

Most people have a large list of favorite links embedded in their webbrowser. Sifting thourgh the list looking for the right link can be a tedious job. However, Lynck could have the solution. Many people only use a handful of links very often (say once a day). These preferred links can be put on your main page, so you can make use of them in a much easier way. Just provide the information once to Lynck, and the links will appear on your personal page. For instance, it would be wise to put a link on Lynck of your bank, your blog, your favorite forum or a website you ever so often visit. At first, you might not see the real advantages of this besides a few less mouse clicks, however, after a while you will notice the ease of having the links you use very often available to you instantly from your starting page. In the settings page, every link has two fields: one for the web address, and one for the link's name tag. Leaving the name tags empty will result in automatically generated link names, derived from the provided webaddress. Below you will see two screenshots, where the left one shows the settings page and whre to fill out the link information, and the right one points out the result on your personal page. Links will always be placed below the search engine box (see step 1). To help you a little bit on good sites to be put in your links area, Lynck has provided a short list on the right of the settings screen: clicking on the link will automatically add this link to your current set of links. Don't want any links? That's okay, just leave the boxes empty and go the next step.

Step 4: Choose your favorite news feed (RSS)

News sources should not be excluded from your personal page. This will make your page more dynamic and will keep you up to date on what's happening around the globe, or what to eat for dinner today. News feeds range from aggregate news from around the world, to new movies out in theathers around Europe, to the coolest new sites. As in the case for the links section, the choice is yours: would you like only one source, or 6 sources, it's up to you. Please take some time to scroll through the different sections of the feeds available. There are many different topics covered by the feeds provided by Lynck. Selecting a feed twice will result in 2 times 7 different headlines (provided that these are available). Below you will find a screenshot of the settings page and the areas which are affected by changes in the settings page.

Step 5: Choose a Quicksearch option

Next to the conventional search engine, you may also use the special Quicksearch option. The Quicksearch option provides you with a set of sites which are often used as a source of reference. The Quicksearch option enables you to query sites as the Internet Movie Database (IMDB), in such a way that the result shows immediately. This will save you a few clicks and quite some waiting time. In the settings page, you could set the standard option to be showed in the Quicksearch box (the other options will always be available via a drop down menu). If you decide not to use the Quicksearch option, you should set the option to 'none'. Below you will find a screenshot of where the Quicksearch is positioned on your personal home page.

Step 6: Applying the changes and Setting your Browser

You are nearly done... Just a few more settings are necessary in order to be able to use Lynck properly. First, before you browse away from the settings page, you should save your settings by clicking 'apply changes' at the bottom of the settings page. Lastly, your browser needs to be set to load your Lynck page when you open your internet browser. There are several types of browsers:

Microsoft Internet Explorer is set very easily. Just click here: Set as homepage.
This icon is also provided on your home page on the top right corner.

Firefox is set manually. Please click on extra -> options -> general -> home page
